Winter activities at Parkland Ranch
– Entry of 5th of April 2009 –

We are working on offering a variety of winter activities for you. The most exciting adventure will be snowmobiling. We intend to organize overnight excursions through the Duck Mountain Provincial Park, staying at a remote Lodge. The trip will be an unforgettable adventure, traveling through the wilderness with an experienced guide with opportunities to see timber wolves, moose, deer and many other winter animals. We will also offer daily snowmobile excusions to the Lake of the Prairies for ice fishing in a heated fishing shack. Another exciting ranch activity is exploring the wildlife and nature on snowshoes. For those who like skiing the local ski hill offers a variety of runs and a nice place to spend a day. For further information please send an email or just call 1-204-564-2285.

Working Holidays in Canada
– Entry of 7th of December 2008 –

Are you interested in working with horses and cattle for a 6 months period? Then Trinder's Ranch in Russell could be the right place for you! This huge Canadian horse and cattle ranch is looking for saddle-fast riders interested in natural horsemanship. There are 180 horses and 700 cattle on the ranch. The horses – mainly Tennesse Walkers and Quarter horses – are primarily trained according to Pat Parelli's "Natural Horsemanship“.

In the first months you will learn how to train horses. Your job will then be to work with the horses and to train them. It will also be a part of your duty to drive cattle or to repair fences. You will not have to clean barns or do other similar activities as you will spend most of your working time in the saddle. A real cowboy job!

The working period is from the end of April to September 2008. Accommodation is included. You are welcome to discuss further questions with Marsha:
